Character Spec Philosophy

We strongly believe that you should play your character in the manner in which you enjoy, after all it's your $15 a month. What you need to understand is that from a raiding standpoint your spec will have a direct correlation to you obtaining and sustaining a raiding spot.

Successful raids require a balance of classes, specs and utility. When we raid our goal is to be successful and not waste our players' time, thus taking a completely unbalanced group into a raid instance is not an option. Because of this we look at not only class but also at spec to determine whether or not a player will be a good fit for the raid group.

Realize that some specs are "nice to haves" in raid groups but not many are needed and we take very few of these classes with us when raiding. If you play a spec that is non-traditional for raiding or a spec that we already have a sufficient number of players in, you may find that your ability to raid with us is limited (or nonexistent). You need to consider this carefully when looking to join the guild or looking to drastically respec out of the spec you were guilded in.

Special Note to Barflies

From time to time we may ask you to make minor changes to your spec if we feel the change could provide a significant advantage in the success of our raiding group. When you are asked to respec please make sure you know what results the raid leaders are looking for and assist in monitoring the respec to see if the change is meeting the intended goal. Open communication between you and the raid leaders will help ensure that your spec is one that you are comfortable with while maximizing your ability to perform your tasks in the raid.

In extremely rare cases we may ask a hybrid to swap into a different discipline for raiding. Please note that this will be done in very rare situations and is not something we actively pursue. It's done only for the necessity of the raid group and only when we feel that the player is exceptional and can easily swap between the two disciplines.

In cases of raiding players who wish to drastically alter their specs into a discipline other than that they use to raid, we will treat it as a main/alt swap. The player will lose their raid slot with no guarantee on if and when they might obtain a future raid spot.
