Loot Policy
For all 5-person instances and non-active raids, we use a Random Roll system. Please ensure you've read what the item is before selecting Pass/Greed/Need.
Pass on BOPs if you can't use, it's not an upgrade, don't want it, whatever.
A pre-determined enchanter will Greed all BOPs, unless it's an item said enchanter Needs. Voids will go to the Guild Bank for Unemployed use only.
Need if you need. There may not be enough time to alt-tab out and check how big an upgrade it is, so please research potential drops beforehand. (Kaliban's loot list is an excellent resource for this.)
BOE Epics and Blues are Greed rolls. If it's a ginormous upgrade or you really need the Nether to craft an upgrade for yourself or a guildie, feel free to ask if it's alright to need, but everyone has to be in agreement that it's cool to do so.
The main idea here is don't be an asshat about loot.
Recipes
Members who have the skill level to craft the item and are either an Officer or veteran guildie have priority on recipes, as they're the ones who have contributed to Unemployed most, and new patterns will help them continue to do so. BOE patterns that craft a BOP item will be rolled on by those with the skill level to craft it immediately, and will do so within a week, otherwise they will be gbanked for future use.
Runed Orbs, etc
These will be looted to an Officer for deposit the guild bank, with the purpose of using them to craft items for yourself or a guildie or (in the case of Marks of the Illidari and similar items) purchase of consumables for Barflies.
BOE Trash Greens & Blues
These will be looted to an Officer or designated enchanter for DE and deposit the guild bank, with the purpose of using them to enchant raiding gear.
For progression raids of 10+ persons, we use a modified Loot Council and Random Roll system, Master Looted.
The Loot Council consists of Officers and Raid Leaders, and determines who is eligible to roll based on the following criteria:
Rank: Barflies > Couch Warmers > Alts. All raiding officers are considered Barflies for the purposes of loot.
Upgrade value
Attendance, including how many times one has been present for that boss/trash kills
Loot previously received
Tier tokens are distributed with the following priority:
Barfly MTs > Barfly OTs > Barfly Healers > All other Barflies > Couch Warmers > All others
Nobody likes sharding gear. We hate it. If it's not of use or an upgrade to anyone's main raiding spec, it may be rolled on for an off-spec without incurring any eligibility penalties.
Looting Process
Raid loot distribution is administered through the EPGPLootmaster addon. When loot above the designated threshold drops, you will have a popup window asking you whether you would like to select Need (Main Spec), Greed (Off Spec or PVP), or Pass. Items that you are unable to use/equip are AutoPassed. Players then have 60 seconds to make a determination of Need/Greed/Pass, along with any Notes they wish to add regarding the item.
The loot council will make a determination to either award the item, or have two or more people roll for it and award it to the highest roll.
